Dear Friends,

Although Thanksgiving was full of gratitude and fun, December’s panic arrived early this week. I became cranky about my “to do” list. Worst of all, conversations stopped at our house as I holed up in my basement determined to master the schedule.

Apprehension about the upcoming holidays is about more than timelines. Many of us may experience sorrow. We might miss friends and family or mourn the loss of health, job security and resources. Our calendars aren’t filled with holiday parties, perceived or not.  And even when we do attend a gathering, cocktail chatter can feel trite, even lonely.

It’s mortifying to reflect on my earlier petulance.  With a roof over our heads, family and friends who love us, a warm bed at night, good health and food on the table, truly, what more is needed?  Nothing.  And even if we don’t have all of the above, we have the privilege of a beautiful life.

What a shame it would be to miss the Magical Moments of December.  Don’t you agree?

Holiday Conversation Campaign
To create joy, cultivate presence, generate wonder and possibility!

Please anticipate a brief idea, suggestion, question or quote to arrive bi-weekly or so in your inbox. This is a “12-Post” campaign, separate from my weekly e-News, meant to strengthen spirits and relationships as we end the year. I’ve included you because of our connection through work, social media and or networking together, especially over conversation.Conversation embodies hospitality, the giving of care to others and receiving the same. Conversing is a precious gift to share…at a meeting, over a meal, around a favorite table, large or small, in front of a fireplace, on the phone, at the Holiday party, and even in a store’s check-out line.

This month let’s cherish our interactions one moment, minute, hour, and day at a time!

With gratitude,
Amy
