Or, Where’s the Dark Chocolate Sea-Salted Caramel?
I found a really good book today and bought it on impulse, 1000 Foods to Eat Before You Die by Mimi Sheraton! What fun to peruse and discover the world through my stomach!
I started glancing at some of the suggestions of the “must eat’s”:
- Boston Baked Beans, Union Oyster House, Boston
- BLT Sandwich, Eisenberg’s Sandwich Shop, NYC
- “Cholent” aka “Sabbath Stew”, Haifa Restaurant in Las Vegas!
- “Retes” aka strudel,Café Gerbeaud, Budapest
- Sijidou Chao Rousi aka Chines snake beans,Fortune Palace, Shanghai
- Vegetarian Thali, Sagar Ratna, Delhi…a small sample of what’s listed.
After browsing I turned to the index and looked for “Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel”, my new “food” for the past few years. Surprisingly, it wasn’t listed!
In my opinion this is a “must eat before you die” item. The luscious creamy sweet caramel contrasts beautifully with dark chocolate and sea salt and provides a delicious, satisfying eating experience!
Not sure if it’s what you want to buy for Valentine’s Day? Here’s a New York Times articles, “The Best in the Box” telling us the why and how salted caramel should taste!
